Small 8vo (7-3/4 x 5 inches); 431 pages with 3 pages of publisher's ads at rear. In full green cloth with pictorial gilt on spine. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Very light rubbing and bottom corners "bumped" otherwise an excellent copy. [The second "ending" to Dickens' unfinished novel, Mystery of Edwin Drood, was written by Henry Morford, (1823-1881) a NY journalist and travel writer. It was originally published serially in 8 parts in England 1871-72. This is the first edition in book form. Authorship of this title was wrongly attributed to Charles Dickens, Jr. and Wilkie Collins (assigned by Allibone and Cushing to Henry Morford).]
