Hamlin (1856-1927) was the daughter of a New Englander who became the first elected Senator from South Carolina after the Civil War and wrote a series of five children's novels of which this is the third. Four additional illustrations from L. J. Bridgman. Slight soiling to the rear cover, otherwise an excellent, sound, copy.
