New York Simon and Schuster 1955 Hardcover
First American edition. Quarto in original buckram with printing on spine and original yellow pictorial dustwrapper, the front of which is illustrated from one of his Moscow street scenes and lettered in black. A sensitive observer's view of the daily life of ordinary people behind the iron curtain. Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) revolutionized photography by taking to the streets with an unobtrusive Leica camera. His style of photography was defined by his book issued in 1954 which was entitled "The Decisive Moment" the creative fraction of a second when a photographer sees and intuits the moment when everything is revealed.
