Limited edition of 300 copies. A Fine volume in quarter cloth with decorative patterned paper (based on Nash designs) over boards with paper label on spine in a Fine slipcase. The narrative story of four students, Dora Carrington, Paul Nash and his brother John, and Christine Kuhlenthal, who formed friendships as they came together at the Slade School of Painting in the years just prior to the 1st World War. Ronald Blythe, (author of "Akenfield") a friend of the Nash's, draws heavily from letters, photographs, drawings and paintings (many in color and many tipped-in) to reveal an intimate portrait of these friends and of the time in which they lived. Printed at the Fleece Press by Simon Lawrence. A fascinating story in a handsome limited edition volume. ; 4to; 175 (3) pages
